Club History

The Davistown Bowling Club was formed on 23rd August 1973 with a membership of 93. Only 33 of these members had previous bowling experience.   The initial membership fee was $20.

In 1973 the Club was affiliated with Zone 6 BA and changed to the Central Coast BA when it was formed from Zone 6.

The Club was affiliated with the RNSWBA in 1973.

The first licensed clubhouse was a small cottage and the first green came into play in 1974. A second green was added in 1976. In 1986 the club occupied a new club house that was built by members adjacent to the greens. In 1991 this club house was destroyed by fire and the club was rehoused in Davistown RSL club premises. In 2000 the No 2 green was replaced with synthetic grass and in 2010 the green was returned to a grass green.

In 2022  the Women’s and Mens’s Clubs unified and in 2023/24 the Club celebrated it’s 50 year anniversary.
